A Rare Opportunity !!!

On Friday January 15th, which also happened to be my 34th Birthday, Aaron and I had the opportunity to dress up and go to a military ball. This is something we have only had the chance to do two other times in Aaron's military career. It is so fun to see everyone dressed in their best uniforms and dresses !!!! We had a ball !!!

Park City Ski Trip !!!

Over the New Year, Aaron and I and SG took a family ski trip to Park City, Utah. We were joined by my parents, Aaron's sister and brother-in-law, and Aaron's Dad and his wife. It was a lot of people to please on one trip but we had a great time. Park City is a great place and it was the best ski resort we have ever been to. Although SG is still a little too small to ski, she had a wonderful time dressing up in her snowsuit and playing out in the snow !!! Our plan is to take SG back in two years with Aaron's sister's kids so they can all have their first ski experience together !!!

Breakfast with Santa !!!!

This morning we attended the annual Breakfast With Santa event that is put on by the Family Support Group. Last year, Sarah-Grace was one very upset little kid about sitting on Santa's lap. She was just fine until she turned around and realized who was holding her. This year, she didn't look thrilled about sitting on his lap but she didn't cry. Then, she got off of his lap a little too early before Aaron and I could get up there to have a family photo. When she got off his lap they prematurely gave her the gift that they have for each child and she promptly turned around, ran back to Santa and got back on his lap. She is a smart kid after all and probably thought huh if I sit on his lap I get a gift...sweet let's do it again !!! For your entertainment, I am posting last year's photo and this year's photo...what a difference a year makes !!!!

The Christmas Dress !!!

Well in the mail today we received SG's holiday dress made with love by Aaron's Mom (Grandma). It is a beautiful dress and fits her just perfectly. So, after we put it on, I decided to try a little photo shoot. While no where near professional, I think we got some really good ones after I did a little editing !!!! Enjoy !!!

A Very Coooooold Trip !!!!

Last weekend, Aaron, Sarah-Grace, and I along with a couple of other families from Fayetteville took off to our nation's capital for a little sightseeing and some freezing cold weather. I have never in my life been so thankful for the raincover on our stroller. On Saturday, it was about 32 degrees and either snowed or rained all day. We still managed to have some fun in all the wonderful museums though. Sarah-Grace especially loved the museum of Natural History due to the large collection of animals and we also got to see a live butterfly exhibit which was really cool. I posted my favorite pic from the weekend to the left under the title "Monumental Girl" . I am posting some others pics below of us in front of the WWII memorial and Sarah-Grace playing in the kids section of the American History Museum. Although we had fun, I was definitely reminded that traveling with a small child is complicated !!!!

A Miracle Photo !!!

Yesterday we headed out into the backyard with Aaron's camera and tripod to attempt some family photos. After getting some shots of just the three of us, I wanted to try the six of us...which means I wanted to include the 4 legged children as well. Aaron pretty much thought I was nuts but it worked and we got a pretty darn good photo considering the calamity that occurred trying to get everyone in position. Anyway, I posted the photo below which I will deem a miracle among miracles !!!

Halloween !!!

We had a very very busy Halloween this year. It all began on Thursday night with a party at a good friend's house. Friday involved the kids' Halloween party at Aaron's work and Saturday night was hotdogs and trick o treating at another friend's house .... WHEW !!! This year, SG was dressed as a cupcake thanks to the fantastic costume made by Aaron's Mom. She had a lot of fun trick o treating but after a while she just got kinda cranky ... I don't really blame her though because it was hot and sticky outside !!! Here are a few photos from the festivities and the last one is of SG tackling my friend's son during a sugar rush !!!!
